Starting Location: Waterloo, IL Walmart parking lot

Time of Departure:   7:30 AM     Moving ride to Saturday for the southerly tailwind for the return.

Description: This is a No Drop Century ride (100 miles) to Chester, Illinois and back to see the Popeye statue.  There will be a lot of flat riding but there is also a climbing component when we return from Chester and via Fults Road to Kaskaskia Road up towards Waterloo.

We will have a SAG wagon to SAG you if you breakdown beyond repair or get tired. Our SAG wagon will be able to haul your extra snacks and drinks in a cooler along on the ride.  A pump and some tools, tires, etc. will be available in case of a blow out or mechanical issue. You will also be able to store any cooler weather clothing, worn in the morning, in the SAG.  We will maintain a 14 – 15 mile average to keep the group together. No one will be dropped.

Special Considerations during this time:

  • Social distancing of 6 ft.
  • Bring mask to wear if requested. You need a mask for the Market in Prairie and restaurant.
  • Stay home if you feel ill or have been exposed to Coronavirus.
  • Stay home if you feel you would be exposed to Covid-19 by STLRC cyclists.

  • I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge.
  • Go right at Exit #6 towards Columbia/Hwy 3 south.
  • Go for 9.1 miles to HH Road.
  • Turn right on HH towards Walmart.
  • Turn left at first street and then right into Walmart parking lot.
