All rides are free for St. Louis Recreational Cyclists members. Non-members must join by their second ride. 

Starting Location:  Meramec Greenway Trailhead @Ridge Meadows Elementary 777 Ridge Road

Time of Departure:  9:00 AM

Description:  This route takes place on partly paved bike trails of the Greenways trails system, switches to paved roads in West County and then returns on the same bike trails.  The route goes thru Rockwoods Reservation both ways where there is a restroom.  About 1 mile packed gravel along Meramec both ways. Ride leader rides with 28mm tires on his bike and they work just fine.  Ride is mostly shady.

Distance & Elevation:   30.7 miles with approx. 1900′ of climbing.   

Directions:

This Trail head is very close to the Ridge Meadows Elementary school at 777 Ridge Rd, Ellisville, MO 63021

From Clarkson Road:

  • Continue west on Manchester Road
  • Left (South) on Old State Road for 2 miles.
  • Left on Ridge Road (approx. 200 yards) to Trailhead parking just south of Ridge Meadows Elementary School

Experience Level:  3Cb              

Stops:  Restroom stops at the Al Foster Trailhead at 3.5 and 15 miles.  Rest rooms also available in Rockwoods Reservation twice as we pass through.

Road Hazards:  Be careful when crossing Hwy 100 – very fast traffic.

Weather Considerations: The ride will be canceled if: It’s raining or there is a high percentage prediction of rain, high winds or too cold. Please watch the weather forecasts and radar.  Check the website for any corrections or cancellations before you leave home.
