Coffee Ride – Columbia to Millstadt

Starting Location: Schnucks Market Place Columbia, IL
Time of Departure: 7:00 AM
Description: Rolling ride through pleasant, southern Illinois back roads with the Millstadt CircleK as our rest destination. Mileage options for 37.3 to 44.3 miles. Ride Leader plans on riding the 44.3 mile route.
Ride Leader’s Expectations: Speed – 14 to 15 mph average. 15 to 17 mph Average for the speedsters. Many times there are stretches where speeds will increase. Drafting – We like to work together and will be drafting on this ride. Distance – 37.3 to 44.3 miles. Elevation: 1582′ to 1700′ of climbing. This ride has rolling hills and some long grades.
2nd Flight: If anyone wants to lead this ride at a faster pace and possibly distance also, please contact the posting ride leader of your intentions.
Directions:
- From I-55 and I-255 in South St. Louis County go 6.0 miles southeast across the Jefferson Barracks Bridge on I-255.
- Exit IL Hwy 3 South, go 2.2 miles and turn right on Veterans Parkway @ McDonald’s.
- Go 0.1 mile and turn left on Columbia Center just past Regions Bank.
- Turn right into the Schnucks MarketPlace parking lot.
- We usually park out away from the Pediatric Dentistry storefront.

Stops: Re-Group stops as needed. Millstadt rest stop will be the CircleK at Washington and Jefferson.

Weather Considerations: It will be hot today. Bring electrolytes drinks and snacks to eat. The ride will be canceled if it’s raining at departing time or high percentage of rain forecasted, too windy, or too hot. Please watch the weather forecasts and radar.
