Starting Location: Waterloo, IL Walmart parking lot

Time of Departure:   10:00 AM  Start

Description:  Riding to Prairie du Rocher from the Waterloo Walmart. Will be going down through Renault.  Should be able to get a sandwich, snacks and drinks at Myer’s Korner Market if so inclined.  Rest Rooms available at Waterloo Walmart at the start and at Prairie du Rocher City Park.

Ride Leader’s Expectations:  Final Speed – 14.5 to 15+ mph Average.  We will cruise sometimes at 16-22 mph. Many times there are stretches where speeds will increase. Drafting – We will be drafting on this ride.   Distance – 52 miles – Sorry, no short return.  Climbing Elevation: 2029of climbing. This ride has rolling hills and one long climb up Fults Road.  Riding time: Approx. 4+ hours, time on course 4.5 hours.

2nd Flight:  If anyone else wants to lead a 2nd flight at a more moderate pace on this ride, please contact the ride leader if interested.

Directions:

  • I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge.
  • Go right at Exit #6 towards Columbia/Hwy 3 south.
  • Go for 9.1 miles to HH Road.
  • Turn right on HH towards Walmart.
  • Turn left at first street and then right into Walmart parking lot.

Stops: Re-group stops as needed to stay together. #1 Optional Rest room break if needed at 3.4 miles Amoco at Front and Market Streets.  #2 Main Rest Stop in Prairie at Myer’s Korner Market with rest rooms on Main St – Prairie City Park.
