Starting Location: Waterloo, IL Walmart parking lot

Time of Departure:   9:30 AM  

Description:  Another ride to Red Bud with rolling hills and scenic, low traffic roadways.

Ride Leader’s Expectations:  Final Speed – 14.5 to 15+ mph Average.  We will cruise sometimes at 16-20 mph. Many times there are stretches where speeds will increase. Drafting – Yes  Distance – 50 miles – Sorry, no short return.  Climbing Elevation: 2075′ of climbing. This ride has rolling hills and some long grades.  Riding time: Approx. 3.5+ hours, time on course 4 hours.

2nd Flight:  If anyone else wants to lead a 2nd flight at a more moderate pace on this ride, please contact the ride leader if interested.

Directions:

  • I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge.
  • Go right at Exit #6 towards Columbia/Hwy 3 south.
  • Go for 9.1 miles to HH Road.
  • Turn right on HH towards Walmart.
  • Turn left at first street and then right into Walmart parking lot.

Stops: Several re-group stops to keep the group together. #1 Main Rest Stop in Red Bud at Casey’s Redbud – Hwy 3 & Shiloh Dr. #2 Rest room break  Phillips 66 Hwy 3 & Ames Rd.     #3 Optional Rest Rooms – Amoco Front St. & Market in Waterloo.
