Red Bud Rendezvous

Starting Location: Waterloo, IL Walmart parking lot
Time of Departure: 8:00 AM
Description: Scenic southern Illinois 49 mile ride to Red Bud and back with lots of small rollers and about 1900′ of climbing.
Ride Leader’s Expectations: Final Speed: 15 – 16 mph Average. We will cruise, at times, between 16-20 mph. Drafting – There will be drafting on this ride. Distance – 49 miles. Sorry, no short routes. Climbing Elevation: 1900′ with rolling hills. Riding time: Approx. 3.5+ hours, time on course 4 hours.
2nd Flight: If anyone else wants to lead a 2nd flight at a more moderate pace on this ride, please contact the ride leader if interested.
Directions:
- I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge.
- Go right at Exit #6 towards Columbia/Hwy 3 south.
- Go for 9.1 miles to HH Road.
- Turn right on HH towards Walmart.
- Turn left at first street and then right into Walmart parking lot.

Stops: Casey’s on Hwy. 3 & Shiloh in Red Bud
Road Hazards: Rest stop is at 28 miles so plan accordingly. Bring extra snacks.
Weather Considerations: The ride will be cancelled and rescheduled if: It’s raining at the start location at departing time, high winds expected, or if a large weather front is moving in. We won’t start in the rain. Please watch the weather forecasts and radar. Check the website for any corrections or cancellations before you leave home. Contact ride leader with questions.
