STLRC – Upcoming Rides and Events
Popeye Century Ride & Mini-Century Updates
October 9 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Important Notes concerning the upcoming Popeye Century Ride and Mini-Popeye Ride this coming Thursday, Oct. 10
- No official 2nd Flight for the Century ride: Karen Parham, originally slated to be the 2nd Flight leader, had an accident while riding her bike Sunday. She fell and broke her hand. She will not be able to ride or lead.
2. Ride Start: The ride start is changed to 8:00AM for the Century ride and that will make the start for the Mini-Popeye ride about 9:45 to 10AM. It’s hard to predict when we’ll actually get to Prairie du Rocher to meet up with those who want to start at that time but we’ll try to keep the rest stop times as short as possible.
3. Lunch at Popeye Rest Stop: Please bring a sandwich to eat at the Popeye Statue. We will have chips and cookies to go along with that but if you want anything else, pack it in the SAG van. We will be carrying some extra Gatorade and water but plan on bringing a supply for yourself. There is water and drinks available at the store in Prairie du Rocher. Always good to have your own supply though.
4. SAG Van – We will have a SAG van but please plan on riding the ride you select. If you have doubts about if you can ride the Century ride, please consider the Mini-Popeye which is half the distance. The SAG van is for emergencies. We will be taking donations for the SAG driver for spending her time with us all day. Give what you want please.
5. RSVP – Please send an RSVP to Joe Kruchowski 314-766-0646 or Sharon Kruchowski 314-229-0705 if you plan on riding. We need to know if you plan on doing the Century or the Mini-Popeye ride so we know who is coming.
