All rides are free for St. Louis Recreational Cyclists members. Non-members must join by their second ride.

Starting Location:  Dames Park, O’Fallon, MO off of Hwy P about 0.5 miles west of Main Street. Rest Rooms available.

Assembly Time:  8:40 AM

Departure Time:  9:00 AM

Description: Ride out to Old Monroe via Koch Road,  St Paul Dyer and continue on Meier to Brevitor Road. Return via Childs Road, Flatwoods, St Paul and Koch Road. Rolling hills with longish moderate grades. Distance 30 miles with 8 mile option to ride to the end of Brevitor and back to Childs.  1800+ feet of climbing. A Don’t Drop the Leader ride. Stick together as a group.

Expectations: Final average speed 14-15 mph. Sustained speeds up to 18 mph some sections.

Directions to Start:

  • Head West on I-70  – Exit at exit #218 to E Terra Ln (outer road).
  • Proceed straight 0.9 miles to right on Main Street.
  • Go north 2.0 miles on Main Street to Hwy P.
  • Turn left and go 0.5 miles to Dames Park entrance on left (Dames Park Plaza sign at entrance)
  • Drive right in to parking area.

Or

  • Head West on I-64 -Exit at exit #9 for Hwy K
  • Right on Hwy K
  • Pass under I-70 going North which becomes Main Street
  • From I-70 go 2.0 miles on Main Street to Hwy P
  • Turn left and go 0.5 miles to Dames Park entrance on left (Dames Park Plaza sign at entrance)
  • Drive right into parking area.

Stops:  Old Monroe Fast Lane Service. (May be temporarily closed so be prepared with your own snacks.)

Road Hazards: None known at the time of this posting, but be prepared for pot holes!

Weather Considerations:   Sunny: Sunscreen and hydration needed.  The ride will be canceled if it’s raining at the start time or if the forecast looks sketchy. Please watch the weather forecasts/radar and check this Posting in the morning.
