Starting Location: Millstadt Liederkranz Park Park along the tree line on the west side of Main Street.
Time of Departure: 7:00 AM
Description: Riding to Smithton today with a loop around Freeburg with two different length returns offered from Smithton.
Ride Leader’s Expectations: Final Speed: 14.5-15 mph Average. Drafting – There will be drafting on this ride. Distance – 44.6 to 47.4 miles. Climbing Elevation: Approx. 1300′ of climbing. Riding time: Approx. 3.5 hours, time on course 4.5 hours.
2nd Flight: If anyone else wants to lead a 2nd flight at a more moderate pace on this ride, please contact the ride leader if interested.
- I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge
- Go right at Exit #6 towards Columbia/Hwy 3 south
- Go for 4.3 miles to right exit up and over Hwy 3 onto Hwy 158 towards Millstadt
- Continue onto IL-158 E for 5.6 miles
- Turn left on Main Street. Go .2 miles
- Liederkranz Park parking along tree line will be on the left

Experience Level: 4Bb – 4Bc
Stops: Rest stops at the Freeburg MotoMart going out. Rest/Food Stop in Millstadt at the Circle-K.
Road Hazards: Might be a spot of chip seal here and there. It’s the season. May be hot so take precautions. Bring electrolyte drinks and snacks.
Weather Considerations: The ride will be canceled if: It’s raining or if there is a high percentage prediction of rain or high winds. Please watch the weather forecasts and radar. Check the website for any corrections or cancellations before you leave home.
