Starting Location: Page Ave. Katy Trail Parking Lot 2884 S River Road, St. Charles, MO 63303
Time of Departure: 9:00 AM
Description: From the Katy Trailhead at the Page Extension, the ride drops down to the Katy riding one of two routes; either towns of Machens OR Matson. Out and back…all on the Katy Trail. That day’s plan determined by prevailing wind (hope for a tail wind on the return). No drop ride provided you are able to ride comfortable within the pace of the group. Goal is to finish together. Gravel bikes or hybrids suited for crushed gravel recommended.
Ride Leader’s Expectations: Final speed – 10 to 13 mph averages depending on group size and that day’s rider feedback. Route can easily be extended for those wanting more miles. Be advised that if you vary from the official route, you are own your own. Riders should expect runners and pedestrians as well as other riders. Riding time: Approx. 3 hours. Rest rooms available on the Katy at various points (Weldon Springs, St Charles, Research Park, Greensbottom etc).
