Time of Departure: 7:00 AM
Description: Riding the back roads through Millstadt and then on to visit Freeburg, IL. Options for 48 to 54 miles.
Ride Leader’s Expectations: Final Speed – 14 to 14.5 mph Average. Sometimes we cruise between 16-20+ mph. Drafting – There will be drafting on this ride. Distance – 48 or 54 miles. Decision at Freeburg rest stop as to return mileage. Climbing Elevation: around 1600′ of climbing depending on route. This ride has mild hills. Riding time: Approx. 4 hours, time on course 5 hours.
2nd Flight Opportunities: Anyone is welcome to lead a 2nd Flight at a more moderate pace and shorter distance on this ride. Please contact the posting Ride Leader to coordinate.
Directions:
- From I-55 and I-255 in South St. Louis County go 6.0 miles southeast across the Jefferson Barracks Bridge on I-255.
- Exit IL Hwy 3 South, go 2.2 miles and turn right on Veterans Parkway @ McDonald’s.
- Go 0.1 mile and turn left on Columbia Center just past Regions Bank.
- Turn right into the Schnucks MarketPlace parking lot.
