Starting Location: Waterloo, IL Walmart parking lot

Time of Departure:   8:00 AM  Start

Expect slight route adjustments due to chip seal activity on G Road. 

The cue sheet and navigation file was changed at 3:30PM Thursday so print out a new cue sheet and download a new navigation file.

Description:  Starting the Saturday Coffee Ride from a different location, Waterloo Walmart. Join us for an early start to Prairie Du Rocher and back. Should be done before noon..  Should be able to get a sandwich and drinks at Myer’s Korner Market if needed.  Rest Rooms available at Waterloo Walmart at the start and at Prairie du Rocher City Park.

Ride Leader’s Expectations:  Final Speed – 14 to 15+ mph Average.  We will cruise sometimes at 16-20 mph. Many times there are stretches where speeds will increase. Drafting – We will be drafting on this ride.   Distance – 51 miles – Sorry, no short return.  Climbing Elevation: 2029of climbing. This ride has rolling hills and one long climb up Fults Road.  Riding time: Approx. 4+ hours, time on course 5 hours.

2nd Flight:  If anyone else wants to lead a 2nd flight at a more moderate pace on this ride, please contact the ride leader if interested.


  • I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge.
  • Go right at Exit #6 towards Columbia/Hwy 3 south.
  • Go for 9.1 miles to HH Road.
  • Turn right on HH towards Walmart.
  • Turn left at first street and then right into Walmart parking lot.

Stops: Re-group stops as needed to stay together. #1 Optional Rest room break at 3.4 miles Amoco at Front and Market Streets.  #2 Main Rest Stop in Prairie at Myer’s Korner Market with rest rooms on Main St – Prairie City Park.

Road Hazards:  N. Moore Street is closed so we’ll go down the bike path adjacent to Hwy 3.  Morrison is closed at Front St. also and we will divert to Legion. . Could be hot out there today. Take precautions.  Bring Electrolyte drinks and snacks.

Weather concerns:  We won’t start in the rain or if excessively windy, or if a large weather front is moving in. Please watch the weather forecasts and radar. Check the website for any corrections or cancellations before you leave home. Contact ride leader with questions.
