Meet at MarketPlace in Columbia, Illinois. Directions: I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge, exit Columbia/Hwy 3 south for 1.9 miles, right at Veterans Pkwy (@ McDonalds) for two blocks, left into the MarketPlace. Depart at 9:00 a.m. for either Millstadt or Waterloo. Two cue sheets attached, we'll decide that morning but I'm leaning toward the Waterloo ride. Mileage choices abound. Depart at 8:00 a.m. (note new ride start time) from Sailboat Cove at Creve Coeur Lake for a mostly flat ride to New Town and beyond in St. Charles County. Ride cancelled if raining at ride start time. Directions: From I-270, exit at Dorsett Rd. West 1.5 miles to Marine Ave. Right (north) on Marine for about 1.3 miles to Sailboat Cove entrance. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note there are no rest rooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Rest rooms are available at the Tourism Center which is located at the intersection of S. Check in around 8:45 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. start. Meet at the Route 66 State Park. MoDOT has permanently closed the Old Route 66 Bridge Bridge between the east and west halves of Route 66 State Park. SEE NEW DIRECTIONS BELOW! We are venturing on the acclaimed Route 66 for a fairly flat ride with a few hills out through Eureka and Pacific. Ride about 32 miles with options for additional mileage. Directions: West on I-44 to the Eureka exit (Exit # 264), Left or south on Hwy 109 (Hwy W) cross under I-44 and immediately turn left onto the entrance ramp for eastbound I-44. Once you're on eastbound I-44, take the very next exit for Williams Rd. (exit # 265). Then take an immediate left on the south outer road. Follow the outer road east then turn left and cross under the two Meramec River bridges. Continue until the T intersection with the main park road, turn right and go a short distance (0.2 mi) to the parking lot with restroom. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 start from the Metro East Parks & Recreation Admin Building. Ride 30 - 40 miles on the outstanding MCT paved trail network. Directions: From I-255, take the Horseshoe Lake Road exit (exit #26). East on Horseshoe Lake Road for 0.6 miles. Turn right on Freedom Drive, and then turn left, at the tee, on United Dr. (unmarked) to the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot, directly behind Culver's restaurant. From I-70 east, exit at IL Route 157 (exit #11- Collinsville). North on Rt. 157 for 0.5 miles. Left on United Drive (the road just before Culver's), then a right into the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot. Depart at 7:00 a.m. from Howell Island Parking Lot for a hilly ride through Chesterfield, Wildwood, Allenton and St. Albans. Directions: From West bound Hwy 40 / I-64, take exit 16, turn right on to Chesterfield Airport Road for 2.1 miles then left on to Olive St. Etherton Rd. for 1.6 miles to parking lot on right. Options for 62 or 54 miles. Because of the need to circumvent the bridge closure on Wild Horse Creek Road the route will be modified to avoid changing the the overall distance. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 departure from the Lewis and Clark boathouse for the trail, road and eat ride. A flat 32 mile ride beginning and ending on the Katy trail for the first and last 7 miles of the ride with the remainder of the ride on roads (so bring a bike you feel is appropriate for the surfaces) with a rest stop in Portage. After the ride we will gather at the BBQ establishment for lunch for a great meal. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Meet at the corner of Lafayette and Park (the northeast corner of Lafayette Park) at 9:00 a.m. to depart by 9:30 for a 31-ish mile ride on the Riverfront Trail (website says nothing about flooding or closures - let me know if you know of any trouble). Directions: From I-44 , take the Jefferson exit north a few blocks to turn right on Park. Turn right to park on Mississippi. From I-64 EASTbound, take the Jefferson exit, go about a mile and turn Left on Park. Right on Mississippi to park. From I-64 WESTbound, take the Market exit, go right on Market to the next turn, Right on Jefferson. Go to Park, turn Left then Right on Mississippi to park.
