This classic mid-county ride is geared for the adult recreational cyclist. Low traffic streets, some big hills. Maps are provided. This is a loop style ride on city streets with mileage choices of 16, 26, or 31 miles. Meet at 5:30 p.m. and depart at 6:00 from the Kol Rinah Synagogue parking lot in University City. PLEASE PARK ON THE NORTH END OF THE PARKING LOT. Directions: From the corner of Hanley and Delmar in University City, go north on Hanley for two blocks. Meet at 9:00 a.m., depart 9:30 from the parking lot at the Baseball Field on Hwy. 94 in West Alton, Mo. Ride is 20 miles long. If interested, ride can extend to 32 or 42 miles. Leaders will ride just 20 miles. Eat in West Alton at the “94 West roadhouse” (very good pub food). Directions: Take Hwy 367 north. It becomes Hwy 67. Turn left (Hwy 94) at the stop light at The Pit Stop Gas Station (rest rooms). After left turn at stop light, continue main road through tunnel to the West Alton Baseball Parking lot on the left. This short, easy 16.5 mile route is an out and back the length of Grant’s Trail. Gradual inclines. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for 9:00 departure from north parking lot on Holmes Ave, just north of I-44 overpass. Opportunity afterwards for late breakfast at The Barn by Sappington House. Cancel if raining at start time. Directions: From I-44 (Exit 278) and Big Bend Road go .1 miles east on Big Bend, turn left onto Melshire .1 miles, then right onto Holmes, cross over I-44 and parking lot is on the left.
