Meet at 9:30 a.m., leave at 10:00 from the Muellar Soccer Fields for a flat (17 mile) ride to see yachts and river from two Yacht Clubs (St. Louis Yacht Club and the Lake Center Marina) Neither Yacht Club will have a restaurant open on Monday. We can eat at New Town on the way back or drive to Sugar Fire after we return to cars. Directions: from I-270, take MO. Hwy 370 west into St. Charles County, right at Elm Street-New Town exit, north on New Town Road for 0.5 mile, right on Mueller Rd. for 0.4 mile to soccer fields on the right. Turn right on Freedom Drive, and then turn left, at the tee, on United Dr. (unmarked) to the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot, directly behind Culver's restaurant. This ride (29 - 30 miles with longer option) will take you thru Webster, River Des Peres, Carondelet Park, pass through historic Jefferson Barracks, Grants trail and back to Kirkwood for an end of season potluck lunch in Kirkwood Park at Lion's Pavilion, across the creek and up from our parking area. Please bring a food item to share and your own beverage. Alcohol is permitted but no hard liquor or glass containers.
