Register here  07-11 Oct Sun/Thur  Covered Bridges of Parke County, Indiana (3Cb to 4Cb)
Parke County, Indiana, boasts - count them - 31 covered bridges! We will see how many we can find during three days of riding. From Rockville, Indiana, there are five signed routes of between 25 and 35 miles, each passing by four to nine covered bridges (http://www.coveredbridges.com/map/) . For anyone wanting longer day rides, I have combined some of the signed routes together to create three longer routes of 37, 49 and 54 miles. Keep in mind that bridges tend to span creeks, so it's usually a descent to the bridge and a climb up from it. These are NOT flat rides! We will stay at the EconoLodge in Rockville, Indiana. Each participant will need to make his/her own reservation.
CLICH HERE for Motel Reservation
Ride loops each day, following the easy handy-dandy colored signs along the way. (We can pick up maps at the Visitor's Center also.) Turkey Run State Park is just ten miles away. It's a fun place to hike and play and the restaurant in the lodge is fantastic! Jim and I will get there Sunday afternoon and check out on Thursday morning. But each person is welcome to arrive whenever it's convenient (transportation to/from Rockville is each person's responsibility) and check out by Thursday morning. Since we'll be riding loops out of Rockville, you can choose how many days you would like to participate. Make your own reservations at the motel, then please contact me to let me know you'll be participating so I can include you in all the plans. Coordinator: Anne Jesse, cell: 314-757-6784.
