Meet at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 start (the fried chicken dinner does not begin until noon) We will meet at the Mueller Road Soccer field off Hiway 370 and use the cue sheet Joanie's Portage Loop with lunch at Sugar fire and do the 34 mile ride. At the 16.1 mile mark we will cross Hiway 94 and ride into Portage instead of making a right onto Hiway 94. The picnic features a chicken dinner with many side dishes. Also game booths and a tractor pull. Check website prior to ride because if there is excessive heat that day the ride will be cancelled. Directions: From I-270, take Mo. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 start from the Metro East Parks & Recreation Admin Building. Ride 30 - 40 miles on the outstanding MCT paved trail network. Directions: From I-255, take the Horseshoe Lake Road exit (exit #26). East on Horseshoe Lake Road for 0.6 miles. Turn right on Freedom Drive, and then turn left, at the tee, on United Dr. (unmarked) to the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot, directly behind Culver's restaurant. From I-70 east, exit at IL Route 157 (exit #11- Collinsville). North on Rt. 157 for 0.5 miles.
