Depart at 9:30 a.m. from Belleville Eckert’s Apple Orchard. From St. Louis take I-64 east 7 miles to I-255, then south 3 miles to Highway 15. Head east 12 miles and turn left into Eckert’s parking lot. Park in the parking lot to the far left. There are restrooms on the Eckert’s grounds, but none available for the first 33 miles of the ride. Distance of 41 miles. Depart at 9:30 a.m. from south side of Denis and Judith Jones' Visitor Center in Forest Park. This 23-mile North County ride will include the full lengths of two paved bike paths: St. Vincent Greenway and Ted Jones' Greenway and parts of the Centennial Greenway. We will avoid high-traffic streets. Parts of St. Vincent Greenway, UMSL, and University City are hilly. We'll stop at the Whistle Stop (on S Florissant in Old Ferguson): restrooms, snacks, picnic tables. Directions: Park on the street or in the lots south of the Forest Park Visitor Center. We will travel low traffic roads and utilize the bike trails in the New Towne area. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Meet 8:30 a.m., depart 9:00 from the parking lot at the Baseball Field on hwy. 94 in West Alton, Mo. Ride is 20 miles long. If interested, ride can extend to 32 or 42 miles. Leaders will ride just 20 miles. We’ll eat in West Alton at the “94 West Roadhouse” (very good pub food). Directions: Take Hwy 367 north. It becomes Hwy 67. Turn left (Hwy 94) at the stop light at The Pit Stop Gas Station (rest rooms). After left turn at stop light, continue main road through tunnel to the West Alton Baseball Parking lot on the left. Directions: From the intersection of Clarkson Road and Manchester Road in West County, go west on Manchester Road (which becomes Hwy 100) approximately 2.4 miles to the stop light for Taylor Road on the left (south); left on Taylor Road for one block and then left into the Dierberg’s Parking Lot. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 start from the Metro East Parks & Recreation Admin Building. Ride 30 - 40 miles on the outstanding MCT paved trail network. Directions: From I-255, take the Horseshoe Lake Road exit (exit #26). East on Horseshoe Lake Road for 0.6 miles. Turn right on United Drive, and then turn left into the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot, directly behind Culver's restaurant. From I-70 east, exit at IL Route 157 (exit #11- Collinsville). North on Rt. 157 for 0.5 miles. Left on United Drive (the road just before Culver's), then a right into the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot. Directions: From I-270, go west on I-64 (Hwy 40) 9.6 miles to the Long Rd. exit (exit #16). Take the Long Road exit, right and back up over I-64, then right on Chesterfield Airport Rd. for 1.8 miles to Olive Street Rd. (@ Phillips 66 station). Left on Olive Street Rd., which becomes N. Eatherton Rd., for 2.7 miles and turn left at the golf course sign. Where the road bends left in 0.3 miles, turn right into the second (east) church parking lot. Lunch in the Valley after the ride.
