Road Closures

Bouquet Road CLOSURE for Bridge Replacement Project
Bouquet Road will be closed from Monday, May 14 through August 11, 2018 to replace the existing one-lane bridge on Bouquet Road located just north of Cremins Road. The bridge location is approximately 0.6 miles from the Melrose Road intersection and approximately 2.3 miles from the Old Manchester intersection,

Meet at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 start from the Kirkwood Park/Community Center for the regular 30 mile ride through Kirkwood, River Des Peres to South St. Louis, Casino Riverfront bike path, JB Park and Grant's Trail back to Kirkwood. Rest stop at shelter in JB Park with water and restrooms. Directions: I-270 to Manchester Road. East on Manchester for about 2 miles to Geyer Road. Meet at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 departure from the Lewis and Clark boathouse for the trail, road and eat ride. A flat 32 mile ride beginning and ending on the Katy trail for the first and last 7 miles of the ride with the remainder of the ride on roads (so bring a bike you feel is appropriate for the surfaces) with a rest stop in Portage. After the ride we will gather at the BBQ establishment for lunch for a great meal. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note there are no rest rooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Rest rooms are available at the Tourism Center which is located at the intersection of S. Riverside Drive and First Capitol Drive, approximately 0.5 mile from the Boathouse parking area. Depart at 9:30 a.m. from Southwest Drive which is IN Tower Grove Park, near the Kingshighway entrance to the park. This 25-mile South City ride will include the full lengths of three paved bike paths: Christy Greenway, River Des Peres Greenway (rebuilt), and Mississippi River Greenway which connects River City Casino to JB Park. Tours of Carondelet Park and JB Park are included but optional. We will avoid the high-traffic city streets. Frequent small hills. Our stop for rest rooms and a snack (bring your food) will be in JB Park. Directions: From I-64 or I-44, take Kingshighway exit SOUTH. Just past Magnolia Street, turn left into park. Turn right onto one-way SouthwestDrive (no street signs), park. There are no restrooms near western end of Tower Grove Park. The rest rooms at the center of TGP will be open. Meet at 9:45 a.m. depart at 10:00 from the Bridgeton Community Center on Fee Fee Rd., north of St. Charles Rock Road (West of Lindbergh). Enjoy this short almost flat, 13-mile ride through the old Carrollton section of Bridgeton to O’Connor Park. Our ride will continue through a well-lighted tunnel and back over Natural Bridge Rd. to lunch at Smokey’s Barbecue at Carrollton Plaza. Directions: From I-70, take the St. Charles Rock Rd. exit (exit #234). This is the first exit east of the I-270 and I-70 interchange. Go east towards the city for 0.4 mi to Fee Fee Rd. Left (north) on Fee Fee for 0.5 mi to the Bridgeton Community Center & Pool (Payne-Gentry Park) on your left. Please park toward the rear of the lot behind the Community Center. Meet at 12:30 p.m. to leave at 1:00 for the annual Great Fish Fry Bike Ride. Meet at the Lewis and Clark Boathouse for the Harbor to Harbor ride (flat 40 plus mile ride, which can easily be shortened)and after the ride we will ride to St. Peters Catholic church (across the street from the hospital) for a great meal. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area.
