Road Closures

Bouquet Road CLOSURE for Bridge Replacement Project
Bouquet Road will be closed from Monday, May 14 through August 11, 2018 to replace the existing one-lane bridge on Bouquet Road located just north of Cremins Road. The bridge location is approximately 0.6 miles from the Melrose Road intersection and approximately 2.3 miles from the Old Manchester intersection,

Please meet at 8:00 a.m. for an 8:30 ride from the Portage Nature Reserve for a 20 or 30 mile flat ride using quiet roads prior to the fun of the Portage picnic with a great dinner, Bingo, games and a tractor pull. Bring a bike lock. Please check website prior to the ride in case changes need to be made to the ride or parking area due to the possibility of flooding at this time of year. Directions to Nature Reserve: take Hwy 94 East from Hwy 370. Where Hwy 94 joins Hwy H go north on H. When H intersections with Hwy 94 cross 94 unto Hwy J into Portage. When Hwy J ends make a R onto Commonfield then make a L on Saucier, Nature Reserve is on the corner of Saucier and Second Street. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 start from the Metro East Parks & Recreation Admin Building. Ride 30 - 40 miles on the outstanding MCT paved trail network. Directions: From I-255, take the Horseshoe Lake Road exit (exit #26). East on Horseshoe Lake Road for 0.6 miles. Turn right on United Drive, and then turn left into the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot, directly behind Culver's restaurant. From I-70 east, exit at IL Route 157 (exit #11- Collinsville). North on Rt. 157 for 0.5 miles. Left on United Drive (the road just before Culver's), then a right into the Metro East Park and Recreation parking lot. Leaders will ride just 20 miles. Lunch at the "Long Shot" Cafe in the marina. Directions: Take Hwy 367 north. It becomes Hwy 67. Turn left (Hwy 94) at the stop light at The Pit Stop Gas Station (rest rooms). After left turn at stop light, continue main road through tunnel to the West Alton Baseball Parking lot on the left. Directions: I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge, exit Columbia/Hwy 3 south for 4.3 miles, right exit up and over Hwy 3 onto Hwy 158 east for 7.1 miles (2 blocks past VFW Hall), left on Polk Street for 0.3 mile to the fourth street on the right (Kalbfleisch Drive), right on Kalbfleishch Drive for 0.2 mile to Millstadt City Park Parking Lot.
