Depart at 8:00 a.m. from Sailboat Cove at Creve Coeur Lake for a mostly flat ride to New Town and beyond in St. Charles County. Directions: From I-270, exit at Dorsett Rd. West 1.5 miles to Marine Ave. Right (north) on Marine for about 1.3 miles to Sailboat Cove entrance. Options for 25 - 45 miles. Rest/Food Stop in New town. Depart at 8:00 a.m. from the Lewis & Clark Boathouse in St. Charles for a flat ride to Portage Des Sioux. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note there are no rest rooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Rest rooms are available at the Tourism Center which is located at the intersection of S. Riverside Drive and First Capitol Drive, approximately 0.5 mile from the Boathouse parking area. Options for 42 or 46 miles. Rest/Food Stop in Portage Des Sioux. Depart at 9:00 a.m. sharp from the Kirkwood Park/Community Center for the regular 30 mile ride through Kirkwood, River Des Peres to South St. Louis, Casino Riverfront bike path, JB Park and Grant's Trail back to Kirkwood. Rest stop at shelter in JB Park with water and restrooms. Lunch at the Sappington House. Directions: I-270 to Manchester Road. East on Manchester for about 2 miles to Geyer Road. South on Geyer for 1.2 miles to Kirkwood Park/Community Center, park behind the pool. Depart at 9:00 a.m. (Note the new starting time of 9:00 a.m. for the month of September) from Dierberg’s at Taylor Road. Options for 17, 22 or 31 miles. Replaces the standing Friday Monarch Levee Ride while the levee trail is closed at the Missouri River Bridge and Centaur Rd is closed for 3 months. Directions: From the intersection of Clarkson Road and Manchester Road in West County, go west on Manchester Road (which becomes Hwy 100) approximately 2.4 miles to the stop light for Taylor Road on the left (south); left on Taylor Road for one block and then left into the Dierberg’s Parking Lot. Meet at 7:30 a.m. for a 8:00 start. With the Grafton Ferry back in business, we can finally schedule the ever popular "Three Ferries Ride". This ride (33 or 41 miles) is for all riders regardless of your bike speed. Two ride coordinators to insure no one gets lost or left behind. If your not familiar with this ride, we ride from the soccer fields to the Grafton Ferry near Smartt Field. Cross the Mississippi and Illinois rivers to Grafton. Pedal up the River Road or bike path to the free Brussels Ferry. Cross the Illinois River to Calhoun County and ride country roads (some hilly) to the Golden Eagle Ferry for a trip back across the Mississippi and a short ride back to the soccer fields. Please remember to bring extra money ($8.00) for the Grafton and Golden Eagle Ferries that charge $4.00 per bike. Directions: From I-270, take I-370 west into St. Charles County, right at Elm Street / New Town exit, north on New Town Road for 0.5 mile, right on Mueller Road for 0.4 mile to the soccer fields on the right. Depart at 8:30 a.m. (Note the new departure time of 8:30 a.m. due to the extra driving distance to the starting point) from the Millstadt City Park on Kalbfleisch Drive in Millstadt, Illinois. Directions: I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge, exit Columbia/Hwy 3 south for 4.3 miles, right exit up and over Hwy 3 onto Hwy 158 east for 7.1 miles (2 blocks past VFW Hall), left on Polk Street for 0.3 mile to the fourth street on the right (Kalbfleisch Drive), right on Kalbfleishch Drive for 0.2 mile to Millstadt City Park Parking Lot. Meet at 8:30 a.m. to leave at 9:00 from the Lewis and Clark Boat House in St. Charles for a 30 mile flat ride that begins on the Katy Trail before travelling on the road to Portage and returning via Hiways J and H then Island road. On the return we will have lunch at Trail Head Brewing. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Depart at 9:00 a.m. from the MarketPlace in Columbia, Ill. Variation of a ride (35 mi) developed several years ago by Susan Feldman. First half of ride is rolling hills (one short steep climb) to a rest stop in New Valmeyer. Remainder of ride is downhill and flats back to Columbia. Meet at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 start from the Kirkwood Community Center. Ride is based on an old Trailnet ride called "The River des Peres Ramble". It has a few difficult climbs and is about 38 miles. Ride through a beautiful section of South County climbing Weber Hill Rd, through Clydesdale Park and then DOWN Clydesdale hill onto Grant's Trail with a rest stop at our usual JB Park Shelter. Continue onto the paved bike trail which runs along the river near the Casino, then on to the Meremac Greenway Bike Trail and into South St. Louis City. We can stop at the Russell Café at Murdoch and Mackland, or eat at numerous places on the Hill. We then head toward Maplewood, go onto the Deer Creek paved bike trail, and then head back through Webster Groves and Kirkwood. Directions: I-270 to Manchester Road. East on Manchester for about 2 miles to Geyer Road. South on Geyer for 1.2 miles to Kirkwood Park/Community Center, park behind the pool. Depart at 9:00 a.m. from Windsor Crossing Church east parking lot. Options for 20, 27, 32 or 37 miles. Replaces the standing Friday Monarch Levee Ride while the levee trail is closed at the Missouri River Bridge. Directions: From I-270, go west on I-64 (Hwy 40) 9.6 miles to the Long Rd. exit (exit #16). Take the Long Road exit, right and back up over I-64, then right on Chesterfield Airport Rd. for 1.8 miles to Olive Street Rd. (@ Phillips 66 station). Left on Olive Street Rd., which becomes N. Eatherton Rd., for 2.7 miles and turn left at the golf course sign. Where the road bends left in 0.3 miles, turn right into the second (east) church parking lot.
