Bouquet Road CLOSURE for Bridge Replacement Project
Bouquet Road will be closed from Monday, May 14 through August 11, 2018 to replace the existing one-lane bridge on Bouquet Road located just north of Cremins Road. The bridge location is approximately 0.6 miles from the Melrose Road intersection and approximately 2.3 miles from the Old Manchester intersection,

Directions: From I-70 and Hwy M (Main Street) go north 0.5 miles on Hwy M (Main Street) to railroad crossing; left (west) on Civic Park Drive (first street north of railroad crossing); west 0.2 miles to park on the right. Check in around 8:30 am for a 9:00 start. Meet at the Route 66 State Park. MoDOT has permanently closed the Old Route 66 Bridge Bridge between the east and west halves of Route 66 State Park. SEE NEW DIRECTIONS BELOW! We are venturing on the acclaimed Route 66 for a fairly flat ride with a few hills out through Eureka and Pacific. Ride 32 miles with options for additional mileage. Directions: West on I-44 to the Eureka exit (Exit # 264), Left or south on Hwy 109 (Hwy W) cross under I-44 and immediately turn left onto the entrance ramp for eastbound I-44. Once you're on eastbound I-44, take the very next exit for Williams Rd. (exit # 265). Then take an immediate left on the south outer road. Follow the outer road east then turn left and cross under the two Meramec River bridges. Continue until the T intersection with the main park road, turn right and go a short distance (0.2 mi) to the parking lot with restrooms. Meet at 8:30 a.m. Leave at 9:00 from the Lewis & Clark Boathouse in St. Charles for a flat ride to Smartt Airport and return to St. Charles Borremeo Church for a great fried chicken and roast beef dinner ($10:00). Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note there are no rest rooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Rest rooms are available at the Tourism Center which is located at the intersection of S. Riverside Drive and First Capitol Drive, approximately 0.5 mile from the Boathouse parking area. Ride is about 30 miles, with an option for an additional 10 miles. Rest stop at Smartt Airport. Bike or drive to start of Tour at 10:30 a.m., from the Campus Flagpole. Bikers meet at Clifton Terrace (5 miles north of Alton on the River Rd.) at 8:45 a.m., start ride at 9:00 to Elsha. In Elsha, there is one hill up to the Campus and Flagpole. You may bike, walk, or drive up. Bikes and cars park near the Flagpole where tour begins. Enjoy the colorful autumn leaves, the Bernard Maybeck (architect) buildings, view the Mastodon bones found by students during campus digs, tour the Chapel, the Auditorium, and the School of Nations where languages are taught. Eat on campus and then ride back to Clifton Terrace (6 miles), or on to Grafton (5 miles more) or still farther to Pere Marquette from Grafton (6 miles more, one way). Sign in at 8:45 a.m. for a 9:00 start at the Kirkwood Community Center. This ride (30+ miles with shorter options) will take you thru Webster, River Des Peres, Carondelet Park, pass through historic Jefferson Barracks, Grants trail and back to Kirkwood for an end of season potluck lunch in Kirkwood Park at Lion's Pavilion, across the creek and up from our parking area. Please bring a food item to share and your own beverage. Alcohol is permitted but no hard liquor or glass containers. After riding around Forest Park, we will go through U City and eventually ride on the Olivette bicycle path to Stacey Park. Meet at Clifton Terrace Park (5 miles north of Alton) on the Great River Road at 9:00 a.m., depart 9:30. Ride goes north to cross the FREE BRUSSELS FERRY on the Illinois River; then continue biking on the Brussels Peninsula to the Village of Brussels. Total round trip is 47-miles. Ride can be shortened by limiting the miles you bike on the Brussels Peninsula before returning via the Free Ferry; then ride back to your car. We will eat in Brussels or back in Grafton.
