Road Closures

Bouquet Road CLOSURE for Bridge Replacement Project
Bouquet Road will be closed from Monday, May 14 through August 11, 2018 to replace the existing one-lane bridge on Bouquet Road located just north of Cremins Road. The bridge location is approximately 0.6 miles from the Melrose Road intersection and approximately 2.3 miles from the Old Manchester intersection,

Meet at 9:00 a.m. to leave at 9:30 from the Lewis and Clark Boathouse parking lot and upon our return we will enjoy the great sausage dinner at St. Peters Catholic church in St. Charles, located at First Capitol Drive and Second Street approximately 1 mile from the parking lot. All you can eat for $10 and always good. Restrooms available nearby. We will ride the Harbor to Harbor route and for those who prefer a shorter ride New Town or Smart Field Airport are turn back points. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note there are no restrooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Restrooms are available at the Tourism Center which is located at the intersection of S. Riverside Drive and First Capitol Drive, approximately 0.5 mile from the Boathouse parking area. Check in at 9:15 am for a 9:30 start. Meet at the Route 66 State Park. MoDOT has permanently closed the Old Route 66 Bridge between the east and west halves of Route 66 State Park. SEE NEW DIRECTIONS BELOW!
Directions: West on I-44 to the Eureka exit (Exit # 264), Left or south on Hwy 109 (Hwy W) cross under I-44 and immediately turn left onto the entrance ramp for eastbound I-44. Once you're on eastbound I-44, take the very next exit for Williams Rd. (exit # 265). Then take an immediate left on the south outer road. Follow the outer road east then turn left and cross under the two Meramec River bridges. Continue until the T intersection with the main park road, turn right and go a short distance (0.2 mi) to the parking lot with restrooms. This rides combines the Route 66 ride and the Windsor Crossing West County Ride for approx. 40 miles with options for additional mileage (Hencken, Ossenfort and WHC roads or going to St. Albans.) Meet at Lafayette Park at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 Start. Directions: East on I-64 (Hwy 40) to Jefferson Ave exit, right (South) on Jefferson for 0.6 mi to Park Ave. Left (East) on Park Ave. for 0.4 mi to Mississippi Ave. We will ride the Riverfront Trails, crossing into Illinois on the Chain of Rocks Bridge and return to Missouri on the McKinley Bridge. Lunch will be at St. Stanislaus Kosta’s festival featuring a Polish dinner. Ride cancels if below 40° at start or precipitation forecast. Lets do a new Portage ride including familiar and some not so familiar roads for a 45 mile flat ride. We will take a break in Portage and make lunch plans after the ride. You will need to print a cue sheet since this is a new ride. Cost $10 for a great all you can eat meal. Bring a lock for your bike.
