 1 May Tues Windsor Crossing Church - Few Hills West County (3Cb)
Depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Windsor Crossing Church parking lot. Directions: I-64 west of I-270 about 9 miles. Take Long Road exit, right and back up over I-64, then right on Chesterfield Airport Rd., then left on Olive Street (@ Phillips 66 station) which becomes N. Eatherton Rd. Drive about 2.7 miles and turn left at golf course sign. Where the road bends left in 0.3 miles, turn right into the second (east) church parking lot. Options for 21, 33, or 41 miles. Meet at Kirkwood Community Center. Depart at 9:30 AM. This ride will start on the extended Grant's Trail, pass through historic Jefferson Barracks, then into the city to Carondelet Park and on to Kirkwood for a lunch stop. Directions: I-270 to Manchester Road. East on Manchester for about 2 miles to Geyer Road. South on Geyer for 1.2 miles to Kirkwood Park/Community Center, park behind the pool. Meet at 8:30 for 9:00 start. Come and join us for approx. 30 mile ride with gently rolling hills (slightly longer options available). Directions: I-270 South over JB Bridge. Right on Ill Rt.3 about 9 miles past Columbia. Right on HH then left into Walmart parking lot. Extra cue sheets. Remember this is an early start. Meet at the Chesterfield athletic fields at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am start. We will ride the new Monarch Levee Bike Trail to Centaur Road then out into west County. Directions: West on I-64 (Hwy 40) to Exit #14 (Spirit of St. Louis Blvd.). Up exit ramp to traffic circle then make a hard right onto the North service Rd. Turn right on United Drive and then turn left into the Metroeast Park and Recreation building parking lot directly behind Culver's restaurant. From I-70 East exit at Illinois Rt 157 (exit #11 - Collinsville). North on Rt 157 for 0.7 miles. Meet at Stacy Park at 9AM for 9:30 departure. Stacy Park is in Olivette, off Old Bonhomme Rd, which runs south from Olive. Directions: From the west, drive east on Olive 8/10 mile past Lindbergh and turn right on Old Bonhomme at the light. Take the first right into Stacy Park. From the east, drive west on Olive 1.5 miles past I170. Turn left on Old Bonhomme and right into the park. Some of the route is on private property: Monsanto and Old Warson Country Club. Meet at Old Valmeyer City Park at 9:00am for a 9:30 departure. This is a mostly flat ride to Paririe du Rocher and back (approx. 40 miles round trip). If you want a shorter ride, you can ride to Maeystown and back (16 miles round trip). Riders who want a longer ride can decide among themselves to ride from Marketplace in Columbia to Prairie du Rocher (approx. 66 miles round trip). Directions: 1-27/255 SE across the JB Bridge, exit Columbia /Hwy passing the Marketplace to Valmeyer Road. Right on Valmeyer to Bluff Road. Left on Bluff Road into Old Valmeyer. Left on Margraphrics Road into City Park. The park is approximately 15 minutes past the Market Place in Columbia. If you get to Hwy. 156, you have passed Margraphics. Lunch in Prairie du Rocher. Check in at 9:15 am for a 9:30 start. Meet at the Route 66 State Park. MoDOT has permanently closed the Old Route 66 Bridge Bridge between the east and west halves of Route 66 State Park. SEE NEW DIRECTIONS BELOW! We are venturing on the acclaimed Route 66 for a fairly flat ride with a few hills out through Eureka and Pacific. Directions: West on I-44 to the Eureka exit (Exit # 264), Left or south on Hwy 109 (Hwy W) cross under I-44 and immediately turn left onto the entrance ramp for eastbound I-44. Once you're on eastbound I-44, take the very next exit for Williams Rd. (exit # 265). Then take an immediate left on the south outer road. Follow the outer road east then turn left and cross under the two Meramec River bridges. Continue until the T intersection with the main park road, turn right and go a short distance (0.2 mi) to the parking lot with restrooms. Coordinator: Darryl Fabick, 314-822-1183. Meet at Lewis and Clark Boathouse at 9:00 am for a 9:30 am departure for a short, mostly flat ride for Turtles with a longer option for Turbos. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boone's Lick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note: there are no restrooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Rest rooms are available at the Tourism Center, which is located at the intersection of S. Riverside Drive and First Capitol Drive, approximately 0.5 mile from the Boathouse parking area. Lunch in St. Charles upon return. Depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Wal-Mart parking lot in Waterloo, Illinois for a 48-mile ride to Red Bud, Illinois (shorter option for 41 miles is available, but travels 2.5 miles on Hwy 3). Directions: I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge, exit Columbia/Hwy 3 south for 9.5 miles, right at Hwy HH for 0.1 mile, left into the Wal-Mart parking lot. Or, if you desire to ride an extra 20 miles, depart at 8:00 a.m. from the MarketPlace in Columbia, Illinois and ride 10 miles to the Wal-Mart parking lot in Waterloo before the start of the ride and then ride 10 miles from Waterloo back to the MarketPlace in Columbia after the ride. Directions to the MarketPlace in Columbia: I-270/255 SE across the JB Bridge, exit Columbia/Hwy 3 south for 1.9 miles, right at Edelweiss Drive (@ McDonalds) for two blocks, left into the MarketPlace. Take the Elm St/New Town Rd exit and go right (north) onto New Town Blvd. for 1/2 mile, then turn right on Mueller Rd to soccer field parking lot on right. Park near the restrooms.
