 1 June Fri Monarch Levee Ride (3Ba)
Meet at the Chesterfield athletic fields at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am start. We will ride the new Monarch Levee Bike Trail to Centaur Road then out into west County. Directions: West on I-64 (Hwy 40) to Exit #14 (Spirit of St. Louis Blvd.). Up exit ramp to traffic circle then make a hard right onto the North service Rd. Go 0.1 mi and turn left on road leading to athletic fields and parking. This ride will be around thirty miles with options for more or less miles. Note New Summer Start Time!  Depart at 8:00 am from Sailboat Cove at Creve Coeur Lake for a mostly flat ride to New Town and beyond in St. Charles County. Directions: From I-270, exit at Dorsett Rd. West 1.5 miles to Marine Ave. Right (north) on Marine for about 1.3 miles to Sailboat Cove entrance. Options for 25 – 45 miles. Rest/Food Stop in New town. Depart at 8:00 a.m. (note the new summer departure time of 8:00 am) from the Mueller Road Soccer Fields in St. Charles for a 41-mile out-and-back ride to Grafton, Illinois, via the Golden Eagle Ferry (fee for a bicycle is $4.00 each way) and the free Brussels Ferry. Directions: From I-270, take I-370 west into St. Charles County, right at Elm Street / New Town exit, north on New Town Road for 0.5 mile, right on Mueller Road for 0.4 mile to the soccer fields on the right. We meet for this ride at the Kirkwood Community Center. Directions: From Manchester and 270, go east on Manchester for 2 miles to Geyer, south on Geyer for 1/2 mile to Kirkwood Park & Rec Center - parking behind pool. Meet at the Holmes Parking Lot at 8:15 a.m. for a LEISURELY ride leaving at 8:30 a.m. start. We will ride the whole trail (16 miles round trip). Option: ride into Kirkwood at end for a pastry or lunch. Too much for you? You can turn back any time you choose. Ride as little or slow as you wish. Directions from 270: East on 44 to Big Bend, Right on Big Bend through two stop lights to Left on Sappington (North). Left on Monroe, Left on Holmes to parking lot. Meet at the Missouri Visitor Center at 8:30 am for a 9:00 start. Ride across the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge and continue on Madison County roads to the MCT Nature or Schoolhouse trail near Horseshoe Lake. Mileage will depend on what assembled riders want to tackle but will max out around 44+ miles. Directions: I-270 North to last Missouri exit at Riverview Dr. Left (North) on Riverview for 0.1 mi to Dunn Rd. Left on Dunn Rd.(at Moto Mart) for 0.1 mi to Visitors Center parking lot on your left. Directions: From I-270, take I-370 west into St. Charles County, right at Elm Street / New Town exit, north on New Town Road for 0.5 mile, right on Mueller Road for 0.4 mile to the soccer fields on the right. Depart at 8:30 a.m. from Arnold Grove Trailhead in Valley Park, MO for a leisure ride on trails mostly in the shade. Maximum 20 miles with some sections repeated. We'll be riding on paved trails through the woods, along the Meramec River and around Simpson Lake. This ride is designed for those not having the time or energy for the usual rides. Directions: From I-44 and Hwy 141, north on Hwy 141 over the Meramec River to Marshall Road, left (west) on Marshall and an immediate left to the Trailhead Parking Lot. Depart at 8:00 am from the Lewis & Clark Boathouse in St. Charles for a flat ride to St. Peters, with an option to O'Fallon. Directions: I-70 west into St. Charles County, exit 5th Street north for 0.2 mile, then right on Boonslick Road for 0.5 mile to the Boathouse parking area. Note there are no rest rooms available at the Boathouse parking area. Rest rooms are available at the Tourism Center which is located at the intersection of S. Riverside Drive and First Capitol Drive, approximately 0.5 mile from the Boathouse parking area. Options for 30, 38, 41 or 49 miles. Rest/Food Stop in St. Peters. We meet for this ride at the Holmes Ave parking lot at the North end of Grant's Trail. Directions: From Lindbergh Blvd (S. Kirkwood Rd) turn east on Argonne (first street north of RR tracks and train station) for 0.8 mi. Right on S. Holmes Ave for 0.6 mi to Grant's Trailhead and parking lot on your right. Meet at 8:00 am, depart at 8:30. We will ride Grants trail and on to Carondelet park and stop at Applebees for lunch. Ride is approx 25 miles. Those wanting to ride more can ride to JB park.
